Natural Relief for Menopausal Complaints

One of the most commonly asked questions I receive is what can help with uncomfortable menopausal complaints. Many women are seeking alternative answers to conventional hormone therapy for easing hot flashes, insomnia, mood swings, forgetfulness, and fatigue that can accompany menopause. Vitamins, minerals, herbs and other natural ingredients can be used safely and effectively for supporting women through this difficult transition.

I was very pleased to see the findings from a recent study that showed that the combination of evening primrose oil, royal jelly, along with the herbs damiana and ginseng were able to significantly ease menopausal symptoms compared to a placebo. If you are suffering from menopausal complaints and are looking for relief, I suggest trying the following ingredients:

Evening Primrose Oil – rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA – omega 6 fatty acid), which has anti-inflammatory properties. Evening primrose oil has been shown to be helpful in skin conditions, such as eczema and dermatitis. It is also supportive to women with premenstrual syndrome, breast pain, and menopausal night flashes.

Royal Jelly – contains a complex mixture of sugars, lipids, vitamins, and proteins secreted by worker bees to sustain the queen as well as other bees. For humans, it supports immune health as well as has anti-inflammatory properties. It is been shown to be helpful for balancing blood pressure and cholesterol levels as well as supporting energy and endurance.

Damiana – a tonic herb that is supportive to the central nervous system as well as the endocrine system. It is also known for its aphrodisiac properties as well as its mood boosting capabilities.

Ginseng – this root supports vitality and physical performance as well as energy levels and can be helpful for individuals experiencing low moods.
